About this experience

We invite you to discover one of Europe’s most impressive valleys from the air: La Cerdanya. Situated in the Catalan Pyrenees mountains, this area offers a fantastic environment for outdoor enthusiasts and ballooning fans alike. Known as 'the Great Oriental Valley,' its landscape invites you to explore. The valley is framed by the Sierra del Cadí and the Sierra del Moixeró, with peaks such as Tossa d'Alp. On the opposite side, the valley offers breathtaking panoramas of Puigllançada and the Pedraforca massif. Believe us, flying here is truly spectacular !

Activity's description

As the first light of day appears, we’ll meet you for a prompt transfer to our takeoff location. There, you can experience the magic of seeing the balloon come to life as the crew prepares for departure. Once in the air, you’ll enjoy over an hour of pure serenity, gliding effortlessly over the breathtaking Catalan landscape. Upon landing, our ground team will be waiting to whisk you away for a classic celebration: a chilled Cava toast and traditional local appetizers. To cap off the morning, you’ll be awarded a commemorative flight certificate personally signed by your pilot.

Days of operation and Availabilities

Thanks to favorable weather conditions in Catalonia, we operate balloon rides all year long, during the week (on monday, tuesday, thursday and friday) and the week-end (saturday and sunday). We operate one flight per day, by the morning only, just after sunrise. Starting time varies according to season, on summer at 7:00 am and winter at 8:00 am. The whole activity lasts 3-hours in total, including a balloon flight of 1-hour up to 1-hour-1/4 in duration. Just contact us and we confirm you the availabilities.

Prices and Options for this balloon flight

We offer a SHARED flight with other passengers in the same balloon, and the possibility to make a PRIVATE flight (only you in the balloon with the pilot). As an additional service, for the PRIVATE flight only we offer a transfer service from Barcelona city, pick up and drop off, for those who have no cars to reach the flying area.

The activity includes

- Flight organization, the ballooning team (pilot+crew member).
- Third party insurance according to European law Nº785/2004.
- Briefing, preparation and inflation of the balloon.
- A flight in the Pyrenees / La Cerdanya Valley up to 1 hour 1/4 in duration.
- Landing, passengers recovery by the chase crew.
- Transfer back in 4x4 to the launchfield.
- Cava Champagne toast and delivery of First flight certificates signed by the pilot.

Location of the activity

The Cerdanya valley is situated in the Oriental Pyrenees, in the Catalan county, very close to the French frontier, also very close to these famous villages such as Font Romeu, Bourg Madame, Puigcerdá, La Molina and also Andorra. The valley is surrounded by the Sierra del Cadí (on the mid west) and the Serra de Moixeró (on the mid east).

Go by car : 8 km / 10 min from La Molina. 28 km / 30 mn from Font Romeu. 150 km / 2h from Barcelona. 70 km / 1h from Andorra. 110 km / 1h40 from Perpignan (France). 180 km / 2h20 from Toulouse (France).

Specific Cancellation Policy for non-residents

Should weather conditions be unsuitable on the day of the flight, you may reschedule or receive a full refund (excluding non-refundable gift certificates). This must be requested at the time of booking.

Flying season

In the Pyrenees, it is possible to fly all year long. In fact, flying in winter offers some interesting advantages for the passengers: the weather is generally more stable what allows a longer flight and you can get up later as dawn takes place later in the morning. Spring and Summer are good season to fly balloon and countryside offers colourful fields.

Good weather condition for a good flight

Hot-air ballooning is weather dependent. To ensure the flight, we absolutely need to have weak winds (less than 20 kmph) and no rain. In case of unsuitable weather conditions we would offer to passengers alternatives dates.

Restriction and clothing

A hot-air balloon ride is a very safe activity but in order for our passengers to avoid running any risk, we advise pregnant women and children under 6 not to fly. It is important to wear warm clothes, gloves, sunglasses and solar cream during the winter season.
