We invite you to discover, from the air, one of the most impressive European Valleys, the Cerdanya Valley. Situated on the Catalan Pyrenees side, the area offers a fantastic environment for those who like outdoor mountain activities as well as balloon rides. The Cerdanya, also called "the great Oriental Valley", invites you to travel. Its surrounding mountains is formed by the Sierra del Cadí, the Sierra del Moixeró and others pics as the Tossa de Alp. On the other side, the valley offers a dramatic panorama with the Puigllançada and the massif of Pedraforca. Believe us, flying there is really dramatic !

The balloon ride program

Activity description : the activity starts at dawn with the picking up of the passengers at the meeting point. Then, the passengers have the opportunity to help during the preparation of the flight : the setting and inflation of the balloon. When the balloon is up, we take off for a 1 hour flight in duration. The wind is the master of our itinerary. The landing marks the end of our ride. The chase crew comes to collect us. Once the balloon packed, we come back in our 4 wheel car to the launch field. Then, we celebrate the experience with a Cava Champagne toast and delivery of the first flight certificates signed by the pilot.

Duration of the whole activity : the Pyrenees balloon ride lasts half a day, including 1 hour of balloon flight.

Planning : we operate 1 flight per day, we start in the early morning, just after dawn. Many balloons can fly at the same time.

Flying period : the Pyrenees balloon flights are operated all year long, mainly the week-ends but also during working days and bank holidays. Contact us in order the know the availabilities.

Location of the activity

The Cerdanya valley is situated in the Oriental Pyrenees, in the Catalan county, very close to the French frontier, also very close to these famous villages such as Font Romeu, Bourg Madame, Puigcerdá, La Molina and also Andorra. The valley is surrounded by the Sierra del Cadí (on the mid west) and the Serra de Moixeró (on the mid east).

Meeting point : the meeting point and also the launch field is located between the towns of Puigcerdá and Alp, in a place called Cerdanya airfield. Localize it on a map. Coming by car : 8 km / 10 min from La Molina. 28 km / 30 mn from Font Romeu. 150 km / 2h from Barcelona. 70 km / 1h from Andorra. 110 km / 1h40 from Perpignan (France). 180 km / 2h20 from Toulouse (France).

Useful information

Flying season : In the Pyrenees, it is possible to fly all year long. In fact, flying in winter offers some interesting advantages for the passengers: the weather is generally more stable what allows a longer flight and you can get up later as dawn takes place later in the morning.

Good weather conditions for a good flight : hot-air ballooning is an activity depending directly with the weather conditions. To ensure the flight, we absolutely need to have weak winds (less than 20 kmph) and no rain. In case of unsuitable weather conditions we would postpone the flight to another day.

Clothing : that specific flight leaves the passengers in high altitude, meaning low temperatures. It is important to wear warm clothes, gloves, sunglasses and solar cream during the winter.

Restrictions : a hot-air balloon ride is a very safe activity but in order for our passengers to avoid running any risk, we advise pregnant women and children under 6 y.o. not to fly.

Prices and options

We propose two flying formulas in the Pyrenees : the STANDARD flight, is a shared balloon flight with others groups, maximum of 8 passengers in the balloon basket. The PRIVATE flight, offers the option of an intimate flight, only you with the pilot. Prices change according to the number of participants at the time of booking and a lower price for the children under 12 y.o. For those who want to offer the balloon flight as a gift, you can select the option GIFT CERTIFICATE valid one year.

Prices :

The activity includes :

- Flight organization, the ballooning team (pilot+crew member).
- Third party insurance according to European law Nº785/2004.
- Briefing, preparation and inflation of the balloon.
- A flight in the Pyrenees / Cerdanya Valley of aprox. 1 hour in duration.
- Landing, passengers recovery by the chase crew.
- Transfer back in 4x4 to the launchfield.
- Cava Champagne toast and delivery of First flight certificates signed by the pilot.
